Deafness

The deafness is a hearing impaired that can be nature congenital or acquired, which leads to a perception limited or the complete lack of hearing. It can be caused by genetic defects, infections, trauma, exposure to excessive noise, or other environmental factors. Deafness can be type in the partial or total, temporary or permanent and can manifest itself in different degrees of severity. The evaluation and treatment of hearing impairment require evaluation of a doctor specialist, a audiologist or a linguistic mediator for the Italian sign Language (LIS), and can include the use of hearing aids, cochlear implants, or rehabilitation therapy.
