The RSL is a natural languagewith its grammar, syntax and vocabularyused for to express concepts and ideas through the combination of gestures, facial expressions, and body movements.
The RSL was officially recognized as a minority language in Russia in 1995, and the Russian government has adopted policies to promote the use and dissemination.
